Getting There:
After conference check in, enjoy a leisurely stroll to the Potomac River waterfront via the world-famous King Street Mile. The brick-lined sidewalks are studded with centuries old architecture, historic attractions, and independent shops and restaurants.
If you’d rather catch a ride, the King Street Trolley runs every 15 minutes from the King Street Metro Station to the Potomac Riverfront. You can hop on and off anywhere along the way!

On Friday morning we will head to Mount Vernon to explore the grounds of Martha and George Washington’s estate. Enjoy a guided tour of the mansion, see Washington’s tomb, explore the museum for a history of the grounds, and visit the Education Center for a history of Washington’s life through exhibits.
Grab a quick lunch in the Food Court Pavilion, or sit down and relax at the Mount Vernon Inn and Restaurant to fuel up for our next adventure!
Goat Yoga at The Little Goat Farm at the Lake!
We will take an outdoor yoga class complete with climbing goats that’s sure to add an extra challenge to your downward dog! After we find our zen, we will have time for bunny snuggles and bottle feeding the newest members of the Little Goat Farm family.
Finally, we will settle in at Lansdowne Resort, a 5-star resort and spa located on 500 picturesque acres overlooking the Potomac River Valley. Enjoy a dinner on your own at the Harmony Garden with light fare and live music, the Cotton and Rye tavern, or lounge in the Great Room with live Jazz music. Enjoy a hike along the Potomac River trail or book a spa service before dinner. The resort is yours to enjoy!
The hotel will be included in the cost of the side trip, so no need to book directly. However, they have generously offered to extend our rate for three days if you would like to extend your visit on your own.
On Saturday morning you will have time to explore Harper’s Ferry National Historic Park. At the confluence of the Shenandoah and Potomac rivers, on the ancestral home of the Tuscarora and Shawnee people, you can explore John Brown’s Raid against slavery, discover miles of hiking trails in the Blue Ridge and along Civil War battlefields, and wander the quaint town full of shops and cafes where you will grab a bite to eat for lunch. The rest of the afternoon will be spent enjoying Virginia’s famous wine country.
The itinerary is still be finalized for Sunday, so stay tuned!
The ISA+21 Conference can not happen without the effort of its amazing members. Please consider signing up for at least one volunteer shift to help the conference run smoothly!

It is really an amazing site to see so many female airline pilots all in uniform at once. The annual group photo is a long-standing tradition where we wear our uniforms, including blazer. Some of our retired members even keep their uniforms altered so they can participate in the fun! Our professional photographers also have requested that even if you don’t have a uniform blazer, to at least wear a dark blazer or cardigan over your white shirt, so the white balance of the camera isn’t thrown off by a single white-only shirt. Hats are not required.
